Continued from page 38 new album? Greg Burgess: We're not scientists. I'm sure if a scientist really looked into it, we might be completely wrong. These are just facts that we researched. We'll find a topic and then we'll go find articles and YouTube videos about it. We just talk about the topics and then research them on the Internet, but staying away from Wikipedia. NASA has a great website. Mosh: What's ahead for the band? What's next, any new touring plans? Greg Burgess: We're going out with Chimaira in August, then we have a tour in September that hasn't been announced yet. I'm so excited about this tour because it's like a guitar hero tour. After we do that, there's two possibilities in October. There will be a lot of touring. There's about 90 days straight and then we come home after October. We've been told we're going to Europe after that. So fingers crossed because we really want to go there. Mosh: Are your sites set on conquering Europe? Greg Burgess: We play more of a European style. Everybody just thinks we'll do better in Europe. We don't really have break downs. That's where we hit resistance here (in the U.S.). We have amazing fans here and this is not degrading them by any means. But I just think there are more people that will understand what Allegaeon is all about over there. If you look at European metal ver- sus U.S. metal; the guys there have really long hair and there's not really any breakdowns. I don't think I know about a "core” band coming out of Europe. There might be one but I can't think of one. Here, when you say melodic death metal, people just think it's metalcore. It just gets lumped into that and because of that, we get lumped into the metalcore/deathcore thing. Melodic death metal here in the U.S. got crushed by As I Lay Dying and all that, and it got twisted in an American way to be "core.” We just think we'll be better in a less "core' environment. Hence the whole reason to try and get to Europe.
