SESSIONS AT STONECUTTER
Superbig at Stonecutter Studios
A

STUDIOS, Owner/Engineer Chris
Steinmetz finished production for
the new EP from Chicago's SuperBig. The
rock outfit is led by Jimmy Fountalas and
the EP is to be released later this summer.
This project also used the vintage Neve
1073s for vocals as well as a UAD 610 preamp followed by an empirical labs distressor for guitars. Steinmetz also used a wide
array of the UAD plug ins for mixing.
Marty Casey has also chosen Steinmetz
and Stonecutter to produce some songs for
his first solo project. Marty is known for his
work with one of Chicago’s most beloved
rock bands, Lovehammers, and his run on
the CBS television reality series Rockstar:
INXS. With his solo debut, Marty is planning to deliver lyrically driven rock songs
with a touch of blue-eyed soul.
Chicago's very own Paper Angels have
also been working on their new CD at
Stonecutter. Steinmetz is producing the
bands new album, helping them harness
their distinct dark romantic sound.
Steinmetz notes the use of Sound Toys plugins, particularly decapitator and echo boy
for some intense vocal sounds.
