After the Open House , the lights will run each day through Dec . 31 from 5-8 p . m .
The lights and the area have been brought up from older generations and Danzl believes that the hard work the park does for this every year will bring out memories for younger generations .
“ The holiday lights keep the staff at Kennekuk busy ,” Danzl said . “ Our maintenance guys are back out there seeing if the lights and displays are working because it is a lot of work and Rita Brooks helps with her family and friends .
“ It is a busy time for us , but the nostalgia of it and the holiday spirit can warm your heart and there is something cozy and endearing . We all grew up riding through the country with kids in the back seat looking for holiday lights and I remember doing that as a kid and providing that for the younger generation is part of that whole holiday tradition of being together and spending time together .”
