The warm weather is in full swing , and we filled our latest Illiana issue with summertime stories .

Bud Gouard is back in his food truck this summer . He was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer in 2021 . After nine surgeries and weeks of treatment , he finds inspiration in his faith , the community and his passion for barbecue . Read Carol Roehm ' s story on Page 6 .
Champaign residents Julie and Tom Monahan have successfully operated Kickapoo Adventures since 2017 , renting canoes and other recreational items . Julie has now traded her human resources career to build a new venture , Kickapoo Adventures Bar & Grill . Jennifer Bailey has the Monahans ' story on Page 12 .
