Julie said the way she came up with the setting and menu of the restaurant was creating a place she thought somebody would like to go to and eat to get away .
She said the state , which gets a percentage of sales , has been easy to work with .
Menu items include : Cobb salad , burgers , hot dogs , grilled cheese , pulled pork sandwich , cheese quesadilla , chicken sandwich , chicken tenders and wings , potato salad and other sides , kid ' s menu that includes macaroni and cheese , soft drinks , ice cream , boozy milkshakes , frozen cocktails , wine and beer .
This is the first time alcohol has been sold at Kickapoo .
The state put a fence around the outside of the restaurant . Customers must drink alcohol on the premises .
" We spared no expense on our equipment to support this menu ," Julie said .
They had a " phenomenal " Memorial Day weekend , Julie said . They ran out of some items .
