Strategies for climate change mitigation and adaptation in sub- Saharan Africa : Role of multinational enterprise subsidiaries
One of the key challenges facing the world now is climate change . Evidence suggests that , paradoxically , developing countries , including those in sub-Saharan Africa , contribute the least in carbon emissions but are most susceptible to the adverse effects of climate change . The research aims to investigate the strategies and role of subsidiaries of Multinational Enterprises ( MNEs ) in mitigating and adapting to climate change in sub-Saharan Africa , using the specific case of Ghana . Empirical data will be obtained by interviewing relevant officials of sample companies with the motive of understanding how these subsidiaries formulate and implement their environmental sustainability ( climate change ) strategies .
