Tapla is put to use the moment friends and/or family members take their seats and put their plates on the table – the number of plates equals the number of players. Games are downloaded from the Internet, and certain games can be chosen that are more ad-hoc to certain situations. The table promotes social fun because the games available are mostly based con cooperation and teamwork – no team can win without the help of all its members. by Daniel Celada Tapla is a concept made to enhance the social experience. It consists of a table equipped with a touch-screen top made of Gorilla Glass. The table can be adapted to different kitchens by modifying its size and position. Gorilla Glass is a transparent, synthetic material that was launched by Corning Inc. in 2008. It consists of a thin but highly resistant sheet that serves as a cover to protect the table from fractures and potential scratches. This material is the same used on about 20% of mobile phones. This fun concept is like a new and improved board game; with special features such as being connected to social networks, where results can be posted and shared amongst family members. People can remain there for hours, be it after a meal or during a reunion of friends.
