HERITAGE ACADEMY WELCOME
Welcome back to school!
As Head of School and on behalf of the Heritage Academy faculty, we are eager to start the 2018-2019 school year and to implement the positive initiatives in place for our students. On every First Day, our teachers look at our student body and see them for who they are today and envision them as the successful adults they will be tomorrow.
Nothing at Heritage is more important than the academic and personal education of our students. The opportunity for teachers, administrators, and parents to work together to ensure another year of student success is an awesome one. Heritage is proud to be recognized for meeting rigorous standards of excellence in education. We are accredited by SACS / CASI and the South Carolina Independent Schools Association. We are members of the National Association of Independent Schools and the European Council of International Schools. With a full college preparatory program, and advanced placement and honors opportunities in place, we strive to develop lifelong learners and champions.
Our mission is:“ to provide a personalized educational program in a stimulating, supportive learning environment for student pursuing outside professional training in athletics and the arts.” We foster within students a responsibility and a motivation for learning, a moral respect for personal dignity, and a commitment to accountable global citizenship. Each August we share with students, parents, and partners our belief that our geographic, religious, and cultural diversity allows everyone in the school community to experience the opportunity to understand and appreciate the different views and perspectives brought to school each day. Such learning about others is invaluable in our global society today.
When students arrive this year, they will notice some new faculty, a refurbished school interior, and updated networking to enhance their campus experience and technology needs. We continue our successful Synchronous Education program in which students the world over access learning in real time alongside their peers in the classroom. A hallmark of the school, we actively support students who are away from class for tournament play or illness. Our Academic Support Center offers make-up work facilities and individualized instruction.
2018-2019 looks to be a great school year.“ Learning Changes Everything” is the school theme. We are excited and prepared to work beside our students, guiding and inspiring them to understand how new learning will positively affect their futures.
