THE ACADEMY CUP
The IJGA at Bishops Gate team came away with
an impressive victory at the HJGT Academy Cup,
played at Celebration GC in Kissimmee, FL. The
field had 9 teams overall, and the nearest pursuer
was the Mike Bender Golf Academy, finishing a
distant 31 shots behind.
There were several fantastic showings as
individuals. Anne Yu competed 36 holes with
an outstanding total of 4 under par and earned
herself a 5 shot victory. Rivekka Jumagulova
claimed her spot on the podium tying for 3rd
place, with Tina Khaing also securing a top ten
individual finish.
In the highly competitive Boys 14-15 age group,
Chih Yu Lin fired a 1 under par final round to finish
in 4th place, and Jack Turner and Kenny Leseur
notched top tens as well.
The boys 16-18 age group came down to a 3-way
playoff at a two-day total of 3 under par. Junfan
Wang won his first playoff and secured the win.
John Daly II also had another top ten.
