IJGA Newsletter: The Oaks October 2019 | Page 4

LETTER FROM MONTVERDE ACADEMY HEADMASTER DR. KASEY C. KESSELRING We have completed a number of minor capital projects including renovations to the administration building, new roofs on several dormitories, power washing, internal and external painting, resealing and striping driveways and parking lots, new natural grass turf on 9th Street, and lights on the multi-purpose field adjacent to the stadium. We have the permits to relocate our cross walk by The EdgeCenter (aka The Nest) and plan to complete that project in October. I welcome students at IJGA to the 2019-20 school year. The Academy is pleased to have a robust enrollment with our largest senior class in school history. During our opening Convocation ceremony, we welcomed more than 1,300 students to the Academy and celebrated the diversity of 94 different nationalities represented within our student body. Before the end of the calendar year, we expect to break ground on our new Middle School classroom building. We are working through permitting and hope to receive approvals in time to make this goal. Construction is anticipated to take a year, and our goal is to move into the new facility at the beginning of the second semester of the 2020-21 school year. 4 Our Theatre Department put on an outstanding performance of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and the Choral Department put on a wonderful cabaret performance to start the year in stellar form. Athletic teams are working hard and performing well across the board. We are excited to be back in school and look forward to seeing you in the coming months! Dr. Kasey C. Kesselring
