Lamarca for placing 3rd in the Boys Division with a 69 –76
= +3, Beng Keat Lim placed 4th with 72-74 = +4, Brad Riley
tied for 7th with a 71-77 = +6 and Vasundhar “Vee” Thiara
tied 5th with a 84-86 in the Girls Division.
Eight players from around the world participated in IJGA’s
“Stay and Train Program”, played in all three events and
trained at IJGA’s facilities while in the United States with
IJGA, IJGT and IJSA playing host to the group.
Global Junior Golf (GJG) in partnership with International
Junior Golf Tournament (IJGT) and powered by
International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) hosted the
Hilton Head Invitational held at Crescent Pointe Golf Club,
an Arnold Palmer Signature Course, December 6 – 9.
Players representing 17 countries participated in the three-
day tournament which was shortened to two, due to a rain
cancellation of the final round.
The Hilton Head Invitational was the first event in the
series of three tournaments. The second, Savannah Harbor
Junior Shootout, was played at The Club at Savannah
Harbor, December 13 – 16. Players stayed at The Westin
The Academy hosted the Players’ Welcome Dinner
December 6, following the official practice round with
welcoming remarks by IJSA CEO Lee-Anne Misseldine,
IJGA Director of Golf Jonathan Yarwood and IJSA Director
of Education. Players and their family toured the facility,
tested out the Swing Catalyst 3D Motion Plate & Studio,
hitting bays, short game area and recreation center.
Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, where the Players’
Welcome Dinner was held December 13. Although the
first-round was rained out, the field took full advantage of
touring beautiful downtown Savannah, enjoying a boat ride
on the Savannah River, visiting an Escape Room, shopping
and dining downtown.
The final tournament of the three-event series, GJG Grand
Final was held at Mission Inn Resort and Golf Club, Las
Colinas Championship Course, December 19 – 22, located
outside of Orlando in the town of Howey-in-the-Hills,
Florida where Bishops Gate Golf Academy (BGGA) played
host to the final event.
