PARTNERSHIP WITH MEXGOLF AND THE MEXICAN GOLF FEDERATION (MGF) IJGA entered into a strategic partnership with MexGolf and the Mexican Golf Federation (FMG) which was announced on 15 November at the “COPA VALLE MEXICO” championship which hosted the best junior players in the country. 280+ players participated in 2 courses: Club Vallescondido (14 – 18) and Club Campestre Chiluca (7 – 13). 6 IJGA BG and 8 BGGA La Loma students participated. Jose Cristobal Islas from BGGA La Loma made us proud by winning the 14/18 boys division Championship. This partnership signifies an ongoing commitment by IJGA to support junior golf in Mexico. Since its inception, IJGA La Loma has been at the forefront of junior golf development in Mexico. Our approach to athletic training for golfers is to start with the end in mind. Once we understand the student-athlete’s goals and aspirations, a plan or “blueprint” is developed to create the building blocks of success in all areas. The efficiency of 4 the plan is dependent on the assessment process to identify strengths and areas of opportunity. This is no ordinary Academy experience. It is unique and bespoke, created for the individual, allowing our student-athletes to be their best, on and off the course. IJGA is committed to creating opportunities for junior golfers globally to pursue their dream of playing college golf in the US. We have agreed to the Mexican Federation awarding four scholarships to IJGA Old Carolina, to talented junior golfers from Mexico who require financial assistance to pursue their dreams. Jonathan Yarw3ood, Director of Golf at IJGA Old Carolina, held a clinic, attended by FMG’s counselors, club members and coaches. Jonathan demonstrated the use of technology and how it helps to improve the technical aspect of the game.
