Heritage Academy Happenings
Happy Holiday season to our wonderful Heritage
Academy families across the world! At school and
in competition, this joyful season sees our students
advancing full steam ahead. They have taken our 2018-
2019 school theme, “Learning Changes Everything” to
heart. Significant learning and doing is happening in
classes, and student advocacy and college admissions
are in full swing. We are rewarded daily with our
students’ motivation to succeed, our staff’s innovative
instruction, and our IJGA families’ support of our school
and mission.
A special THANK YOU to Olvin Arce, Gr. 8. During
November, he spearheaded the Heritage Academy
Deep Well Holiday Food and Toy Drive for the local
food pantry. Students and staff collected over 260
foodstuffs, toiletries, and toys-- thanks to Olvin’s
leadership, generosity of time, and commitment to this
worthwhile cause!
The campus is abuzz with excitement and alive with
hopes for a terrific finish to Semester 1. We see school
spirit and happy students working to make the grade in
class and on the golf course.
On Dec. 4, 2018, Heritage Academy will host its 20th
NCAA Early Commitment Ceremony. Already, 13
seniors (41% of the Class of 2019) have committed to
NCAA golf, tennis, soccer, or swim teams! So proud are
we!!! Congratulations to IJGA top golfers Kotaro Murata
(University of Hawaii at Manoa), Chase Phillips (George
Mason University), Felix van Kleef (University of Nevada-
Las Vegas), and Hoshi Yadav (Holy Names University).
These fine young men will represent their homes,
Heritage Academy, IJGA, and themselves with great
pride, purpose, and performance at their respective
colleges! It is THE BEST week of the semester when
we are able to celebrate this achievement.

Winter holiday begins 12:15 PM, Dec. 14, 2018. Semester
I Final Exams are Dec. 13-14, 2018. Final exams must be
taken during the exam window. Exams count for 20%
of the semester final grade. Please ensure that your
son or daughter is in attendance for final exams, and
arrange travel plans accordingly.
