For over twenty years, IJGA has had a positive and transformational impact on young people’s lives. Students from around the world have come to learn the same methods that have helped some of the best players on the LPGA and PGA Tours. Founded in 1995, IJGA opened its doors with an enrollment of six students and the goal of providing a structured program of high-level golf instruction combined with college preparatory academics. As the six students began to achieve their potential, it became apparent that without the challenge of competition, it would become impossible for the students to develop into successful players. Since no organized school year junior tour existed at that time, the International Junior Golf (IJGT) was formed to provide a platform for junior golfers to showcase their skills and talents. In 1997, Heritage Academy was founded to serve as the academic component for students interested in pursuing an extra-curricular passion. Heritage provides the necessary tools and resources for students to be successful both in and outside the classroom. HISTORY Prominent alumni who have gone on to successful careers on the PGA and LPGA Tour include Morgan Hoffmann, Pablo Larrazabal, Rich Werenski, Shanshan Feng, I.K. Kim, Stephanie Meadow, Maria Jose Uribe, Song Hee Kim and more. The IJGA summer camp training program was estab- lished in 1997 for golfers who wanted to experience the same world class coaching methods provided in the Academy golf program. More than 6,000 students from around the world have enrolled in our summer camp. The summer programs continue to provide opportunities for players to build a solid foundation of success in a shorter time period. Over the years, the summer program has evolved from a camp to a summer academy experience in which many of our Academy students stay in the summer to continue their education, golf training, performance training and competition.
