AROUND CAMPUS “THE RESULTS ARE IMPRESSIVE THOUGH IT’S NOT TRAINING ALL DAY, ALL WEEK, ALL SUMMER LONG. WE WORK FUN ACTIVITIES INTO THE ROTATION AS WELL,” said Turner. There is a putting challenge where performance is tracked week over week. “We will crown a winner at the end of summer,” said Turner. Other fun golf outings include Scrambles, Par 3 tournaments, and a Night Light golf tournament planned for later this summer. Teenagers are full of energy. To keep them from getting bored, Nicole Leeper, Senior Residential Instructor, and her co-workers in Student Life planned activities that involve moving around and getting some exercise such as basketball, soccer, and volleyball matches. “It’s best to tap that high energy for daytime activities so that the evening can be quieter and more settled. For variety, we planned less competitive activities such as scavenger hunts and hide-n-seek, boat rides, and ice cream socials,” said Leeper. Students have taken it upon themselves to host dinner parties and bake for one another. Ana Maria Jimenez Rios boasts the best cookies at IJGA. As competitive as our students are, no one argues. 8
