IIC Business Strategy and Solution Lifecycle 2.1.2 IIOT SOLUTION LIFECYCLE BSSL WG aims to support the entire IIoT Business Solution Lifecycle with a set of methodologies and best practices. The three main phases of the lifecycle of an IIoT business solution are defined as Idea2Funding, Plan/Build/Run and Validation & Improvements (see Figure 7). Idea2Funding The Idea2Funding phase of an IIoT project is supported by the IIoT Business Model Builder [BSI15], which defines the following sub-phases:     Phase 1: Definition of Strategic Embedding and Value Proposition of the new IIoT Business Solution Phase 2: Describes the solution from the User Perspective, e.g., leveraging UX elements like Customer Journey Map (which details all experiences that a customer goes through when interacting with a company and brand). Phase 3: Defines the value added elements which are introduced specifically through the IIoT, including connected assets, value adding information, and IIoT services Phase 4: Focuses on the Business Case and ROI model, combining traditional elements with IIoT-specific aspects like service subscription models, etc. Figure 7: IIoT Business Model Builder [BSI15] - 50 - December 2015
