RAMADAAN
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Ramadaan is the 9th month in the
Islamic Calendar.
Muslims fast during this blessed
month. That means that they don’t
eat or drink anything from dawn to
dusk. They also mind their speech and
conduct while fasting.
Ramadaan is a time of self-reflection,
sharing and making your relationship
with God stronger.
Muslims believe that the Qur’an was
revealed to the Prophet Muhammad
during the month of Ramadaan.
That’s what makes Ramadaan so
special. The month of Ramadaan is all
about honouring the Qur’an, which
Muslims believe is the direct word of
God.
The main message of the Qur’an is to
believe in the Oneness of God and to
worship Him alone.
Alongside this message, the Qur’an
also encouragesshowing special
kindness to one’s parents.
In Islam, kindness to parents is
considered a form of worship.
Ramadaan is also time for Muslim
to reflect on how they can better
themselves, draw closer to God and
serve others.
Fasting for the month of Ramdaan is
one of the five pillars of Islam.
The pillars are actions that every
Muslim must do.
Fasting helps Muslims to disconnect
from the distractions in life and
focus more on their spiritual sie and
relationship with God.
At the end of Ramadaan, Muslims
celebrate a day called Eid by ending
their fast and praying a special prayer.
They also visit friends and family and
exchange gifts.
This year, due to the pandemic,
Ramadaan and Eid will be a little
different for Muslims, but the
meaning and virtues of this blessed
month still remains.
It reminds us that God is in Control!
Along with fasting, Islam encourages
lots of good deeds during Ramadaan,
such as extra prayers, reciting and
studying the Qur’an, iving charity and
feeding the needy.
