we have to strive to be the very best, to do our best, to aim for the best. Allah SWT says:
“Then We have given the Book (Qur’an) for inheritance to such of Our Servants as We have chosen
(i.e. Muslims): there are among them some who wrong their own souls; some who follow an
economical course (i.e. just doing the basics); and some who are, by Allah’s leave, foremost in
good deeds; that is the greatest excellence.” (35:32)
This verse teaches us that the excellent ones are the ones who are striving to make the extra
effort, to go the extra mile, to be at the forefront in good deeds. This verse epitomizes the month
of Ramadan. It is calling us towards excellence!
Islam is not a way of life of mediocrity. It is a way of life of excellence. Muslims are people of
excellence. And Ramadan is a month of excellence! So we cannot be settled for mediocrity if this
is our last Ramadan.
May Allah SWT help us to be successful this Ramadan and many more. May He SWT enable us to
have the best Ramadan of our lives in 2020.
