I
begin in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious,
the Most High. All praise is due to the One
who created us and sustains us.
Ramadhan, a month like no
other, a month that 1.6 billion
Muslims pray to experience
year after year. That’s
right; Ramadhan, not
Eid. I know what you
may be thinking,
who prefers hunger,
thirst, self-restraint
and tiredness over
indulgence, food and
celebration. Quarter of
the global population!
And no we’re not crazy.
Ramadhan stands for
something so much greater
than mere deprivation, it is
so much more than just fasting.
Ramadhan is one of the greatest
gifts that a believer can receive;
inside that 29 or 30-day
package holds a lifetime of
reward and
forgiveness
and Allah
(SWT’s)
bountiful
mercy and blessings.

the blessed month
“This is a month, the first of which brings Allah’s
mercy, the middle of which brings His forgiveness and
the last of which brings emancipation from the fire of
Hell.” (Bukhari)
The mere mention of the blessed month of Ramadhan
sparks so many emotions in a Muslim. It resonates a
distinct and unique sense of happiness and comradery,
nostalgia and tranquillity and above all a feeling of
pure, untainted pleasure in seeking nearness to one’s
Creator. Everything we do as Muslims in this blessed
month benefits us on so many levels. It brings a
renewed sense of self as we struggle against our nafs
(ego, self), leaving the pleasures of this temporary life
for the benefits of the Hereafter. This beautiful and
blessed month presents an opportunity like no other,
to recharge our minds, refresh our intentions and re-
evaluate ourselves and our progress in attaining Ihsaan
(excellence).

May Allah accept our efforts for His sake alone and
continue to guide us at every step to use this platform
with the purest of intentions, to bring benefit to the
Ummah. May He accept all our Du’as and acts of
worship in this blessed month and grant us a life-
changing Ramadhan whose ben efits we continue to reap
throughout our lives. Ameen.
“Fasting is a screen (from Hell) and there are two
pleasures (moments of happiness or joys) for a fasting
person, one at the time of breaking his fast, and the
other at the time when he will meet his Lord.” (Bukhari)
