My Islam
A
religion of unmatched beauty, a source of peace and solace, beaming with hope, bursting with kindness and compassion, pure and preserved, just and fair, unequivocal and the epitome of perfection; this is My Islam.
But it has been tarnished; tarnished by those who do not truly know about Islam, those who do not practice Islam, those who do not represent Islam.
“ Would you take medical advice from a Chef? Would you seek Legal Counsel from a Graphic Artist? No? Then why learn about Islam from non- Muslims?”
It’ s time for Muslims, to reclaim their religion from those who use it for their own personal gains, from those who use it to segregate and separate, who use it to cause fear and panic and whose aim is to divide and label the world. It is time to showcase My Islam, Your Islam, Our Islam, the religion perfected and sent down by Allah( SWT) through His Prophets, the last of which was Muhammad( SAS)
Islam is beautiful, it is perfect in every way; it is a guide for this world and preparation for the next. It is our duty as Muslims to spread the word of Islam and to erase the negativity surrounding our beautiful religion. We should look at the Prophet( SAS), his Sahabah and Sahabiyah and try to emulate their character. Let us remind the world what Islam truly is, let us represent our religion to the best of our abilities; by exuding patience, understanding, kindness, compassion, honesty and integrity in all aspects of our lives.
Allah says in the Holy Quran:“ And who is better in speech than he who invites to Allah and does righteous deeds, and says:‘ I am one of the Muslims.’” [ 41:33 ]
We are the representatives of this beautiful religion and the way we live, the way we behave has a major impact on how the rest of the world views Islam. Let us rid the negativity that has been created unfairly by the masses and showcase the beauty of our Deen( religion); let us overwhelm them with positivity.
Let us be the Ummah of the Rasool( SAS) that he hoped for, the Ummah he wept for and the Ummah he loved and prayed for. Let us be better Muslims! Let us stand for what is right! Let us be the good in this world! Let us represent our religion! Let us spread the word of Islam!
