have been visited have developed an active relationship with the FTN, always referring cases to for assistance. More importantly, the FTN has recognized that part of its goal is being realized, Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), as many Masjids have started their own Soup Kitchen, and their own Hamper drives- reflective of the revival of the community. The FTN is facilitated by approximately 150 Ansars (Helpers of Allah) who range from ages 7-45, with the majority being between 18-30. This majority dedicates time out of their school, work, and leisurely activities in “working for the sake of Allah”. A very common phrase used by many of the Ansars- “Work in Dunya (this World); Rest in Jannah (Paradise)”. These Ansars are also members of masjids across Trinidad and Tobago and encompasses the idea that we are one Ummah (community), not marked by identities. Programmes like these, acts as a great alternative to the usual delinquent activities, and with certainty, any ROU Ansar will tell you how much fun they have, spending quality time helping humanity, and working for the sake of Allah. Muhammad (pbuh) said, “One who strives to help a widow or the poor is like one who struggles in the cause of Allah.” The FTN works closes with Teejay’s (Monroe Road), Honeybees (San Juan), and Family Mart (Barrackpore, Princes Town), making it easier for interested contributors to purchase hampers there. There is also the Building Fund, where an account has been set up at the Azad Abass Ali Hardware (Charlieville); funds there are to be used strictly for FTN building and other special cases. Anyone can get involved by donating hampers, or sorted clothing, or you can message when you know of special cases in need. Everyone is invited to join in for Soup Kitchen distributions, or even on the FTN monthly drives where you will see the reality of living in homes that are falling apart, lack of clothing and not certain where the food is coming for the rest of the month, and to be part of the Revival. “[It is that] you believe in Allah and his Messenger and strive in the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That is best for you, if you should know.” 61:11 Aspire to Inspire before you Expire. Your stay in this life is short and temporary, send forward your good deeds to meet you on the day when we will need it the most.
