we would not recommend collecting your own insects unless you can be 100% sure they have not come into contact with any pesticides. It is a pleasure to watch our Emerald Tree Monitors go about their day - scurrying and jumping throughout their enclosures. They are very alert and inquisitive animals and will watch you closely if you are moving about the room. To describe this species as ‘fast’ would be a considerable understatement, and they are also able to jump a reasonable distance, so you need to be quick on your feet sometimes! Hopefully in the not-too-distant future we will be able to bring you more information regarding captive breeding, incubation and the rearing of young, and enable other keep- ers to enjoy this beautiful species in their collections.
