Charlotte's
Web
A specific strain of cannabis
high in CBD and low in THC
C
harlotte's Web is a hemp cultivar that was
specifically bred by the Stanley Brothers of
Colorado for its high CBD and low THC content .
These unique and proprietary genetics are used by Charlotte's
Web (the company) to create extracts for a variety of health and
wellness products.
Contrary to popular belief, Charlotte’s Web products are hemp-
derived and are non-intoxicating.
Charlotte’s Web gained popularity after being featured on CNN’s
Weed 2, for the effects it had on Charlotte Figi, a young girl with a
rare seizure disorder.

C
harlotte's Web was developed in 2011 by the
Stanley brothers through crossbreeding a strain of
marijuana with industrial hemp.
This process created a variety with less tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
and more cannabidiol (CBD) than typical varieties of marijuana.
The variety shows potential for medical usage, especially for those
who do not wish to experience the typical high of recreational
marijuana use.
As it is so low in THC, the variety was originally called:
"Hippie's Disappointment"
and also has been labeled "boring".
It is a less profitable plant with "close to no value to traditional
marijuana smokers."
