SUCCESSFUL
SEASON
T
he 2018/2019 season has been successfully
harvested and many lessons learnt. Now we are
asking the big questions which will enable the
industry to scale.
There is still a lot to do and many more people
will need to get involved. R&D on improving the
varieties we are growing, harvesting and processing
is required to create Technology and Products for
export. Industry is showing more support and that is
improving confidence and also attracting funding.
We look forward to reporting back on the progress
and plans for the coming season, starting with
the 21st AGM of the NZHIA (New Zealand Hemp
Industries Association) on the 29th June, in
Wellington.
It is not surprising that iHemp and medicinal
cannabis are very topical at the moment. Ihemp
makes sense, and it truly is a good news story.
In ten years time we will look back and say "What
was all the fuss about?"
