The entourage effect is a proposed mechanism by
which compounds present in cannabis that are largely
non-psychoactive, by themselves modulate the overall
psychoactive effects of the plant (these resulting principally
from the action of the main psychoactive component of
cannabis, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
