Hemp Seed Foods
Midlands Nutrition is a pioneer in the production of
Hemp Seed food products processed from locally
grown Hemp seed. This includes, but is not limited
to, Hemp Seed Oil, Hulled Hemp Seed, Hemp Seed
Protein, Hemp Seed Fibre (Flour) and Hemp Seed
Meal (Flake/Pellets/Milled). Product is available Bulk
wholesale, as well as Private label/OEM.
In 2002, Midlands Nutrition installed specialist oil
pressing equipment and began the production of
Hemp Seed Oil. In early 2012, the company became
the first New Zealand producer of Hemp seed foods
adding to the existing well-developed Hemp Seed
Oil capability. These new Hemp seed food products
were produced from seed grown locally in Canterbury,
with complete traceability from the planting of the
seed, the processing of this seed to oil and meal, and
the further separation of this meal to produce protein

and fibre (flour). Later in 2012, we produced our first
Hulled Hemp Seeds also from locally grown Hemp,
which meant all of the required processing capability
was in place well prior to the eventual legislative
change allowing the sale of Hemp seed foods in 2018.

new hemisphere®, launched Hemp Seed Oil and
Capsules more than 15 years ago (originally as
“Sustainable Seed Oils”) and has since added three
new products, Hulled Hemp Seed, Hemp Protein and
Hemp Seed Flour, produced from the only tested
and validated Chemical Residue Free Hemp in the
market. We have also recently launched a new line
of Global Garlic and Chilli flavoured Hemp Seed
Oils. Our expertise, long-term relationships with
grower suppliers, and a vertically integrated supply
chain, mean we can guarantee continuity of supply to
retailers and distributors.
