Hemp is The Creme de la creme of all building materials

The New Zealand government want all new builds in the residential and commercial building industry to be carbon neutral by 2030 . HBANZ are in dialogue with the government about this , so they can include hemp towards carbon neutral construction .

Hemp fixes these problems :
• There are at least 90,000 Leaky Homes Syndrome Homes in New Zealand
• Mostly homes built before 1978 , that are rentals and uninsulated .
• Young children and the elderly are suffering from living in cold damp homes .
• Landlords since 2019 are required to have insulation in the floors and ceilings of their rentals .
• The most common insulation used is fibreglass batts . Most batts contain formaldehyde .
• Batts slump after a few years and lose their original ‘ R ’ value .
New Zealand has some of the highest respiratory disease rates in the world . Like asthma and bronchitis caused by living in cold , damp homes . It costs the New Zealand taxpayer 6 Billion Dollars a year in health care .
Hempcrete can achieve a negative carbon footprint and can draw carbon dioxide out of the air as it ’ s growing and continues to do so when mixed with it ’ s lime binder . See Jo ' s Summit Presentation on our vimeo channel available in Sept 2021 . Subscribe for more info nzhia . com
