Editor's Note Greetings ! Direct booking is the buzz word today. Hotels across the world including India are moving towards the era of getting direct customers and cut all middle-man including the big OTA's. The task is difficult as most of the OTA's are loaded with money to remain in the middle and keep taking shares / commissions from the hotels. IHD strongly believe that the customer belongs to the hotels. And they have the right to get them direct. Hotel industry is again neglected with the implementation of GST. Message is loud and clear that the country do not need high spending tourist, but rather happy to encourage backpackers. Also domestic tourism will take a beating as staying in luxury hotels becomes more expensive. Hospitality industry is witnessing occupancy rate moving north. But stagnate ARR still remains the concern, as guest is not willing to shell out more money for the same room and services. Last was a year of consolidation with Marriott International's acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Accor Hotels's acquisition of Fairmont Brands, MakeMy Trip's acquisition of Ibibo and Louvre Hotels Group's acquisition of Sarovar Hotels. Several international chains are keen to expand in India and a few domestic brands are adding new properties, which will set the pace for more deals. IHD-Indian Hotel Directory 2017 remains the single largest hotel directory in Asia, across all media formats - Print, Digital, Web and Mobile. We are committed to promote our listed members among the growing travel market from travelers within and foreign guests coming into India. Wishing you a pleasant stay in all our listed hotels.
