In 1919, Junior Achievement Worldwide (JAWW) was founded by three visionaries and successful entrepreneurs with the pur- pose of inspiring and preparing young peo- ple to succeed in the global economy. In 1975 the organization was teaching young people the basic principles of mar- ket economy and entrepreneurship in the classrooms. During the last 20 years, Junior achievement has gradually expanded its activities and it is currently the non profit educational orga- nization with more experiences, expansion and growth in the world. “In Colombia Junior Achievement started its activities in 1999 and to date more than 500,000 children and young people have participated in our practical educational programs in public and private schools in several cities of the country with the “learn by doing” approach and under the motto of Learning to Undertake.” 18 www.jacolombia.org
