For years, humanity has taken from the Earth freely and Earth has given freely with no expectation of a return. However, as a result, Earth’s resources have been depleted. It is time to give back to the Earth. Mabi Swimwear contributes to Green Initiatives such as the ‘Amigo da Floresta Project.’ This is part of the Carbon Free Project, which calculates Mabi’s carbon emissions and plants native trees in preservation areas. Since Mabi’s conception in Spring 2016, we have partnered with this beautiful initiative. Through these programmes, we aim to replenish landscapes by planting trees in the Atlantic Woods in the deforested areas of Cantareira. Mabi believes that once the fashion industry adopts an eco-conscious perspective the rest of the world will follow.

Every year millions of garments are discarded, generating a critical increase in the level of landfilling and pollution on our planet. We believe Industries with an enormous impact on the environment (such as the textile industry) should substantially reduce their amount of waste discarded in landfills to preventing from passing it on to future generations. Our fabric is the world’s first biodegradable yarn, with an enhanced polyamide 6.6 formula allowing clothes to quickly decompose after being properly discarded.

This technology keeps the durability and quality of the garments while still offering the polyamide fiber benefits (soft touch, comfort, easy care, etc.) Degrading in around three years*, the fabric decomposes ten times faster than conventional polyamides making fashion truly eco-sustainable. Ultimately, this enhances landfills productivity waste by a degradation rate and then directly promotes the conservation of green areas.
