This magnificent looking 1966 HR Holden comes to us from Rob Post at Veales in Western Australia . The HR is one of a few classic cars Rob has . He also has a worked HJ GTS and a junior version of a 1934 Hotrod T-Bucket .
Rob came across the HR and was intending on using it for parts initially however , it was in fairly good shape so he began the restoration process .
All rust was cut out and the car underwent a ground up rebuild . It started with a full panel and paint restoration , disc brakes and a power booster were fitted . The car was finished off with a custom interior and unique 100 spoke wire wheels , giving it a classic look .
The HR Holden is powered by a 202 engine with a 3-speed trimatic transmission . A 186S manifold and carburettor were also fitted . Sticking with the old school theme , Rob chose not to fit power steering or air conditioning .
Modifications to the HR are not yet complete as Rob plans to fit a larger engine and twin carburettors .
Rob uses the HR Holden as a weekend driver , turning a lot of heads wherever he goes .
