Greg Wall is re-elected to
International Co-operative
Alliance Board
On Friday 17 November 2017 during the International Co-operative Alliance's (ICA) General
Assembly in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Greg Wall, Group CEO of Capricorn Society, was re-
elected to the Board of the global peak body for cooperatives to represent the Asia-Pacific
region for another four year appointment which is effective immediately.
Mr. Wall's nomination was strongly supported in a tight contest with 24 candidates standing
for 15 seats.
Greg is thrilled to be able to continue to represent and advocate for co-operatives globally.
Greg had this to say in materials delivered to voting delegates from all over the world:
“I am proud of the contribution I have made to the ICA Board and the co-operative movement
in general over the last 4 years. The work done on progressing the UN sustainable goals
during this time shows the true power of co-operatives and reinforces the vision of making
co-operatives the number 1 choice for people by 2020. The Australian Business Council of Co-
operatives and Mutuals (of which I am also a Director) has achieved great success, including
receiving recent recognition from the Australian Government of the importance of co-operatives
as a business model that represents the required long-termism and social responsibility that
is needed today.”
On the ICA Board, Greg Wall joins representatives from Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland,
France, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Sweden, the UK and USA.
Congratulations to Greg on his re-election to the ICA Board!
