Although DNA analysis began in the 1980s , it took the Human Genome Project and the decoding of all 20,000-25,000 genes of a Human genome to really bring it to the public ’ s attention . The development of a Genome sequencer capable of undertaking DNA analysis at a fraction of the cost of previous work also led to the use of DNA analysis in hospitals and the popularising of it as a tool in criminology and even ancestry research .
The age of the Universe was identified at 13.82 Billion years old .
Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet upon the discovery of Eris .
Evidence of Global Warming was found .
Water was identified on the surface of Mars and on the Moon .
GPS was granted to nonmilitary personnel and Google maps were created .
