Scientists have found the oldest known
piece of our planet! A gem, twice the
width of a human hair, has been found
on a sheep ranch in Australia. It is a blue
zircon crystal and it is about 4.4 billion
years old! The Earth itself is around 4.5
billion years old and this finding suggests
that in the early days, Earth was cool
enough to have oceans and maybe even
life!
Last month, trouble swept through
Ukraine, an Eastern European nation
that is home to 44.6 million people. The
country, which sits on Russia’s western
border, has close ties to Russia... Ukraine’s
president, Viktor Yanukovych, has been
removed from power. He was in office
from 2010 to 2014. In November, he
refused to sign a trade agreement with the
European Union. When he later signed a
loan deal with Russia, peaceful protests
began. Protesters called for elections and
a new government. To read more about

Scientists have developed a
new power generator. The
generator is a thin disk, which
has two plates inside that
rub against each other. This produces
small amounts of static electricity, which
can be used to power things like lights
or radios. Small versions could even be
worn on our body and powered by our
own movement! Devices like this could
make a big difference in the fight against
climate change, as it generates ‘free’ power
without the need to burn fossil fuels.

Anxiety
Anxiety is an unpleasant feeling of uneasiness, fear
or worry. Everyone feels anxious from time to time
whether it be stress over an exam, worry about
family problems, or feeling nervous about giving a
talk in front of an audience. It is normal to feel tense
or scared when facing a challenging or dangerous
situation. Anxiety becomes a problem when it is
constant and when fears and worries are interfering
with your every day activities and relationships and
preventing you from enjoying your life.
People suffering from anxiety may experience a
pounding heart, dizziness, shortness of breath,
headaches, tiredness, sweating, trouble sleeping,
trouble concentrating, feeling tense and restless.
Anxiety is very common and around 1 in 4 people
will experience an anxiety problem in their lives.
There are six common forms of anxiety:
