Economics is a dynamic, real-world subject, with something happening almost every hour which affects markets and the global economy.
This course is both active and enjoyable. You need to be good at communicating and explaining your ideas, articulating and defending your position, and not be afraid of learning new things.
Economics combines working with numerical, graphical and written data to analyze economic issues. We will look at a range of real world issues and will use data to help support our arguments and opinions.
You will learn how to be a creative and critical thinker, and learn how to make justified decisions.
The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Economics is a linear qualification. It consists of two examinations that must be taken in the same series at the end of the course of study.
Two-paper assessment - a two-paper model gives students better opportunities to prepare for and focus on different aspects of economics. Students will be tested on knowledge, understanding, analytical and evaluation skills around two themes:
Paper 1: Microeconomics and Business Economics
Paper 2: Macroeconomics and the Global Economy
Concepts and content
The content is appropriate and relevant for progression, and is appropriate for international students, building understanding and awareness of economic theory and testing concepts in realistic contexts.
It effectively develops students' ability to participate in global society as citizens, producers and consumers.
