When it comes to sports betting, in-play betting is forecast to increase more quickly than the traditional pre-match sports betting. By 2029, in-play betting is expected to make up 45.6 % of all sports betting, up from a projected 39 % in 2025.
North America is projected to be the fastest growing region at a growth rate of 19.8 %. This would result in the region hitting a share of 30 % in 2029. LatAm / Caribbean and Africa are also expected to grow at double digit rates, at 15.1 % and 13.4 % respectively. Oceania holds the slowest expected growth rate at 4.6 %, which would result in a drop in its market share from 4.5 % in 2024 to 3.2 % in 2029. Europe remains the largest region by gross win, making up 41.4 % of the market in 2024. A lower growth rate compared to other regions of 8.1 % has resulted in this coming down from 48.6 % in 2020. The region is projected to continue losing its share of the total market, dropping to 35.4 % in 2029.
