The association’s 11 founding members were Admiral Sportwetten, Betfair, BetterBet, Cashpoint, Deutsche Sportwetten, Hillside (New Media), Ladbrokes, Mybet, Stanleybet, Tipico and World of Sportsbetting. In April 2015, German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom completed its expansion into the country’s online gambling market with the launch of the new Tipp3.de internet sports betting platform. The new website is operated by Deutsche Sportwetten, of which Deutsche Telekom holds a 64% stake and Austrian provider Österreichische Sportwetten a 36% share. Although the new service has a strong focus on football betting, customers can access wagering options for other sports such as basketball and the Formula 1 motor racing championship. Tipp3.de only offers betting services for professional sports and does not allow customers to wager on amateur or youth matches.
