Part 5: The games supplier landscape

Part 5 The games supplier market map

Using our base list of presumed Nordic-facing sites, iGaming Tracker has produced a supplier market map for Sweden( see Figure 5).
There are a number of caveats that need to be explained. First, our list of sites is by no means comprehensive. In order to get to the names included in our list, we made an assessment from known Nordic- and Swedish-facing affiliates.
Second, the iGaming Tracker can make no assessment of volume of play. From the top end of the market to the lowliest competitor, the assessment treats every operator site the same. In other words, we get a market share by sites rather than gaming volume.
Third, the tracker only goes so far into the selection of games on offer. In essence, it captures the games at the top of the stack, representing the most popular games with end consumers.
So what does the iGaming Tracker tell us about the gaming space in Sweden? Unsurprisingly, it shows NetEnt to be the dominant games supplier in the region, with 28.7 %.
Perhaps surprisingly, Play’ n Go achieves second spot with just over 12 % of games on the sites tracked and then comes SG Digital with over 6.5 %, Microgaming with over 6 %, and Yggdrasil and Playtech, similarly with over 6 %.
The results deserve greater scrutiny lower down the list, but for the purposes of this report they do demonstrate the wide array of suppliers into the Swedish-facing gaming space and prove that operators are not wanting for range in terms of games suppliers and developers.
