As one of the new kids on the block in the listed affiliate sense , alongside American Affiliate , the Toronto-listed Playmaker brings us a different perspective , particularly when it comes to where the company is directing its efforts .
When it comes to making a splash , Playmaker has certainly followed the tried-and-tested route of buying its way to prominence . Indeed , all its figures for the past quarter need to be viewed in a pro forma sense due to the large shift in revenue brought by the new additions to the company .
Deals in 2021 include the acquisitions of Futbol Sites , Fanáticos , Yardbarker , Two-Up , SoccerMemes , VarskySports , the Nation Network , SuperPoker , Cracks and Futmarketing . The deals have been transformative and significant in those markets they target with ‘ soccer ’ and the Latin American opportunity being foremost .
However , it is not forgetting the US and in April the company acquired the Sports Drop , a NFL , NBA and college sports-focused publisher , for $ 1.2m . It followed that up with a deal to buy World Soccer Talk in July , a US-based soccer-focused media business , for $ 1.15m and another acquisition in August of JuanFootball for
