FansUnite continues its journey towards becoming a pure-play affiliate provider but it isn ’ t there just yet . After the first quarter closed , the company sold its McBookie business and also a copy of the source code of its sports betting platform to Betr .
The company continues to expand its affiliate business , including the Betting Hero arm .
“ We are going to continue our focus on growing our high-margin and profitable US affiliate-centric businesses , primarily Betting Hero and its new divisions ,” said chief executive officer Scott Burton .
Revenue for the affiliate business hit CA $ 7.3m in Q1 . Burton added that the affiliate side of the business has continued to produce “ substantial ” revenues and that the focus moving forward will be on executing on new revenue opportunities while “ driving improved margins ”.
A presentation gives some detail of the Betting Hero business . It says that since 2018 it has handled over 300k activations with over 10k activation events which involved 300-plus activation specialists on the ground . Key to the business is that it achieves 90 % conversions to NDCs .
