INDUSTRY INSIGHT BENEFITS THAT MATTER Elaine Gardiner on the revolutionary new sick pay initiative that’s spearheading her company’s approach to building close partner relationships he unveiling of our new sick pay initiative certainly caught the eye of the affiliate industry, with observers taking a close look at the innovative scheme. It sees affiliate partners receive up to three months of commission, based on an account’s last six months of earnings, if they are unable to work due to a serious illness or other event. Such an initiative has never been seen before in our industry but it was something I was keen to introduce having spent the previous decade experiencing first-hand how such issues can impact those active in the affiliate world. The decision from companies to introduce quotas, such as reducing commission rates should affiliates fail to deliver a fixed number of players per month, was a driving force behind the creation of the sick pay benefit at Global Gaming Affiliates. Life is full of unexpected events and for those who are running smaller businesses or are self-employed, taking time off work can be stressful. It’s rare to see occurrences like these happen, but when they do, we decided that Global Gaming Affiliates would look to help those when they need it most. The initiative won’t benefit everyone, of course, but one of the reasons we introduced it was to reassure our partners. For smaller outfits, the loss of €500 can make a real difference, especially for those just starting out and looking to establish themselves. T ELAINE GARDINER has over nine years’ experience in the affiliate industry. Having been appointed as head of affiliate at Global Gaming in October 2017, she went on to launch Global Gaming Affiliates, offering brands such as NinjaCasino.com and SpelLandet.com Building relationships with our partners Within the industry the overall reaction has been really positive, with many recognising its value. We understand it won’t be a defining factor in wanting to work with us, but it’s an added bonus of our programme which you won’t get elsewhere and, as such, sets us apart. Furthermore, the scheme is an excellent example of the core values that we have set at Global Gaming Affiliates since launching. From the outset, we wanted to build a programme with a relationship-first approach that would see us develop close working partnerships with all our clients. That means treating them as an extended member of the team rather than as a business associate. Regular engagement, incentives and added features, such as our sick pay initiative, all help to build trust between parties as well as improve loyalty. Across Global Gaming Affiliates, we place great importance on every member of our team understanding each affiliate’s varying needs, behavioural tendencies and even the languages required in their markets. Innovation has been at the forefront of Global Gaming’s rise in the igaming industry, with Ninja Casino a pioneer in adopting the PayNPlay model. The new sick pay scheme is just one of the features that we have incorporated into our programme that continues this trend, with several more ideas set to be introduced in 2019.
