On 31 October, 2013 Delaware became the first state to launch a full service online gaming offering. The igaming programme is run by the state lottery, and is powered by a vendor collaboration between 888 and Scientific Games / WMS, which saw free-to-play versions go live in August 2013. Delaware’ s 888-powered poker sites began pooling liquidity with Nevada’ s in March 2015, and will also start doing so with New Jersey’ s later this year after NJ Governor Chris Christie’ s announcement in October that a compact agreement had been reached with Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval and Delaware Governor John Carney.

There are two real-money online poker platforms in operation in Nevada: WSOP. com and Real Gaming, formerly South Point Poker. Two more online poker rooms are slated for launch, under

the 888 and Treasure Island brands. Both will join WSOP. com to form the 888-powered All American Poker Network in Nevada. The AAPN sites in Nevada started to pool liquidity with the three 888-powered online poker sites in Delaware in late March 2015, and will soon be able to do so with New Jersey( see Delaware, above).

On 13 October, 2017 Governor Chris Christie announced that a Multi- State Internet Gaming Agreement with Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval and Delaware Governor John Carney had been reached, allowing internet gaming patrons in New Jersey to play online against players in those two states in games such as poker, tournaments, and progressive slots. PlaySugarHouse. com operator Rush Street Interactive became the first to launch virtual sports betting in the US in November, using a product from Inspired Gaming. The computer-generated, fixed-odds events use a random number generator to decide the outcome, so they do not breach any prohibitions on sports betting in the US. In October in New Jersey igaming win reached $ 20.6m, a 23 %

increase year-on-year, according to figures from the New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement. With October marking the fourth anniversary of igaming in the Garden State, this took the amount generated in that time to $ 682.6m, with casino accounting for $ 578m or 85 % of this total. The state has collected $ 119m in tax during this time.

Illinois: Green Regulated gaming type: online lottery Operator type: Illinois Lottery monopoly Go-live date: live. The Illinois Lottery has stayed online despite lawmakers failing to reauthorise the four-year pilot programme that expired in March 2016. In late May 2017, the Illinois Senate passed a bill, by a vote of 42-10, that would legalise online gambling and daily fantasy sports, but this stalled in the House.
