iGB Live! Spotlight iGB Live! will combine three behemoths of the igaming events space – iGaming Super Show, EiG and Amsterdam Affiliate Conference – into one blockbuster event. We kick off our spotlight feature by talking to event director Stuart Dacre to find out what attendees can expect and why this makes for an unmissable fixture in the annual calendar of all igaming professionals
The space is full of events trying to cover all the bases. What will be different about iGB Live! compared both its predecessor events of EiG and the Super Show, and also what every other event organiser in the space is doing? We are all fully aware of the saturated nature of the events calendar and have been looking for models that enable communities with similar needs and opportunities to engage in the same space. We feel this approach fosters innovation and a sustainable events model. It’ s about listening to our audience and adapting as the industry develops.
With iGBLive! we are looking to bring together the learning model so integral to EiG with the world-class innovation and networking at the Amsterdam Affiliate Conference, underpinned by the solid platform provided by the iGaming Super Show, making this the most important dedicated igaming event in all industry professionals’ annual schedule. they wish to influence and also the level of dialogue. The bums-on-seats model has been challenged and from initial feedback we believe it to be truly groundbreaking.
What under no circumstance should anyone miss at iGB Live! It’ s summer, it’ s igaming, it’ s Amsterdam. With the pedigree of the founding events enabling this level of collaboration between stakeholders, it’ s everything under one( very large) roof. The networking, the knowledge and the ultimate visitor experience makes for an event no self-respecting igaming professional should miss this summer! Oh and Stroopwafels, definitely can’ t miss them!
The AAC content has remained broadly the same, but the format and model of the paid-for streams is very different from that at EiG last year. What was the thinking behind this? We rigorously follow up our events with research into what our communities want and need, and this very much shapes the DNA of our events moving forward. Tried-and-tested formats still have their place, however new approaches to delivering content are always desirable. With the paid-for streams this year we wanted the visitor to really be able to immerse themselves in the igaming world through a newly created content delivery zone that is HQ.
Content is one of the most important particles in the chemistry of events so we wanted to create themed arenas for debate within HQ which would allow specific discussions to develop. Whether you immerse yourself in all that is new from within the HIVE or participate in transformational discussions where you can where have your say through a fully interactive experience with the COUNSEL, we challenge the visitor not to be engaged and impressed!
What can people expect to get from this kind of content that they didn’ t before? The themed arenas give the visitor the ability to really drive debate and potentially effect change throughout the industry. Within the immersive zones, the visitor decides where to spend time and how active they want to be in shaping the debate.
This year more than ever we have a significant presence from nontraditional industry stakeholders such as the PE community, which now recognise gaming as a significant vertical.
Having this narrative running alongside the traditional streams and with the immersive zones enables the visitor to dictate what iGamingBusiness | Issue 111 | July / August 2018 91
