Mark Essex
Mark Essex is director, public policy for KPMG in the UK. He currently leads an intelligence team analysing the impact
of Vote Leave and publishes a regular blog, The Brexit Column, on what Britain’s EU exit means for business. Mark has
been thinking about Brexit and its impact for several years, predicting on 1 March 2016 ahead of the June result that
between 51% and 53% of voters would do so to leave. Mark describes himself as a “relentless optimist”, determined
to originate upsides from the referendum result. His background is in strategy, using critical thinking and an analytical
approach to come at questions from a different angle. In this issue, he assesses the likely impact leaving the EU will
have on Gibraltar-based businesses (p137).
Andrew Bulloss
is a partner at leading executive search firm Odgers Berndtson where he heads up the
gaming practice, based in their London office, the only dedicated gaming and gambling
division focused on senior appointments within a global search firm. The firm works
with industry stakeholders include video, social and mobile gaming companies, online
gambling brands and technology, content and platform suppliers. Prior to joining Odgers,
Andrew spent eight years running recruitment teams within a UK-listed executive
recruitment business. For this issue he writes with colleague Bambos Eracieous on the
opportunities opening stateside following May’s landmark PASPA repeal (p100) and also
sat on the panel for iGB’s inaugural Most Influential Women list (p76).

software and digital marketing business Income Access. She develops business
opportunities and guides new client relationships. Sarah describes herself as passionate
about partnership development and has a holistic understanding of the igaming industry.
Outside of work, she enjoys running and participating in other outdoor activities, and has
completed a full marathon. In this issue, Sarah argues that the best way for stakeholders
to seize the opportunities thrown up by the PASPA repeal is for European and US
operators to get their heads together and start collaborating. You can read her insights
on the need for more joined-up thinking in the US sports betting market on p112.
