LaSalle Lumber Company joins Southern Forest Products Association Southern Forest Products Association (SFPA) welcomes LaSalle Lumber Company, LLC, a joint venture of Hunt Forest Products and Tolko Industries, as its newest lumber manufacturer member. Tolko Industries, headquartered in Vernon, BC, has partnered with Louisiana-based Hunt Forest Products to build a state-of-the-art sawmill near Urania, Louisiana. Earlier this year, Tolko announced plans to build the new facility. The mill is designed to produce 200 million board feet annually, with three Brad Thorlakson, Tolko President & CEO continuous dry kilns and a planer facility. “This is our first venture into the United States,” said Brad Thorlakson, Tolko president and CEO. “And we are thrilled to be in Louisiana with Hunt Forest Products, a family-owned company like ours, and one that has played a vital, reliable role in Louisiana’s forestry industry for more than a century.” Pino Pucci is the company’s manager and will represent LaSalle Lumber on the SFPA Board of Directors. Progressive kiln order ULK Velsk Sawmill in Arkangelsk district has recently ordered two 2-zone Progressive Kilns type HFB from Heinola Sawmill Machinery Inc. with annual capacity of ca. 120.000 m 3 when drying spruce and pine timber to 18 % final moisture content. Progressive kilns are equipped with pressure frames and HEINOLA New Drying Kiln Control System. The new Progressive Kilns will be taken into production this year.
