She rid herself of the two whiskeys and the colada in her bathroom. Her body shuddered with each clench of her stomach. She was ready to commit herself to sobriety when Jake came behind her with a cold cloth and massaged the back of her neck. When nothing but air was being pumped out of her body she climbed into bed and felt the covers drawn snug over her, wrapping her in a warm cocoon.

She didn’t wake until deep throaty laughter floated into her room followed by a laugh track. She stumbled one foot gingerly placed in front of the other as her brain tried furiously to clear the fog. Lisbeth managed to make it to the doorway of the family room being halted by the image in front of her. She wiped her hand over her eyes and took a good look.

They could do it on the kitchen table, she could even lay on the arm of sofa and let him have her doggy style. She was so concentrated on the image of their love making she barely heard Jake speak to her.

“Lis… Lis?”

Jake looked at her with a sleepy smile on his face. Dora didn’t bother to move away from his chest.

“Are you feeling better honey?”

She shook her head no.

“Well, go back to bed. I’ll bring you some of those tablets in water.”

Lisbeth had a fitful dream about Jake and Dora together. She woke early and went into the kitchen. The cupboards were the first to get the axe. She threw away the butter cookies she loved, they were especially cherished on rainy days. The double chocolate brownies were next, no more late night chocoholic binges. Jake’s caramel filled candy bars weren’t spared from the
