composing art of almost entirely natural, discarded, recycled or
repurposed materials. These components are often salvaged from
scrap piles, roadsides, alleyways, or other overlooked or forgotten
places fallen through the cracks of our world and in which she
probably should not so openly admit to spending her spare time.
These items keep an inner history of former lives, from the wood
that stood as a barn for over a century, to the hinges from Habitat
for Humanity which were stripped away to open new doorways for
families, to the rusted pieces of decomposing invention and
industry back to their true natural states. And now perhaps it is
time for some poetry.
Lyndsey Little (cover art) is an illustrator who studied at
Savannah College of Art and Design. She has a penchant for
sweets, videos of cute animals, and puzzle games.
Jessica Manack lives in Pittsburgh and earned her M.A. from
Hollins University. She has been published in Yawp and The
Raintown Review, and has toured as part of the Perpetual Motion
Roadshow.
Jessica Martini is an Arizona native currently pursuing her MFA
in Creative Writing at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.
Originally from Sedona, her writing explores the power of place
and landscape, spirituality and womanhood, as well as personal
renaissance.
Leslie Anne Mcilroy won the 1997 Slipstream Poetry Chapbook
Prize for Gravel, the 2001 Word Press Poetry Prize for her fulllength collection Rare Space and the 1997 Chicago Literary
Awards. Her second book, Liquid Like This, was published by
Word Press in 2008 and Slag is forthcoming from Main Street Rag
in 2015. Leslie’s poems appear in Jubilat, The Mississippi Review,
PANK, Pearl, Poetry Magazine, the New Ohio Review and more.
