Electronic Design Competition
Electronic Design Compe on, organized by
the IEEE Sri Lanka Sec on in collabora on with
the IEEE Student Branch of University of
Peradeniya, was held on 28th October, 2018.
More than 20 teams of undergraduates from
University of Peradeniya, University of Uva-
Wellassa and South Eastern University
par cipated in the compe on.
It was held at the Electronics Laboratory of the
Department of Electrical and Electronic
Engineering, under the supervision of Dr.
Ruwan Ranaweera, a senior lecturer of the
Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
The purpose of this compe on was to facilitate the designing skills of students who were par cipa ng for
the Electronic Design Compe on 2018, organized by the IEEE Sri Lanka sec on.
The teams were provided with necessary equipment and instruc ons to design a constant current regulator
(chosen by the IEEE SL Execu ve Commi ee) which was to be completed within 8 hours.
The students were given an opportunity to demonstrate their designs to the judges.
This compe on provided the par cipants a pla orm to
improve their innova ve thinking and skills on circuit designing.
The IEEE Electronic Design Compe on 2017
was held at the premises of University of Moratuwa, University of
Peradeniya, University of Ruhuna & Wayamba University of Sri
Lanka on 28th October, 2017. More than 50 teams of
undergraduates competed for the trophy. Dr. J.M.J.W. Jayasinghe
was the Coordinator of the IEEE Electronic Design Compe on
2017. The compe on was judged by university academics and
industry professionals.
University of Peradeniya was placed 2nd through a fierce
compe on.
