note from the editorial desk
“Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.”- Winston Churchill.
As the publication head of IEEE IGDTUW SB, it gives me immense
pleasure to announce that the Publication Team is all set to release its annual student magazine, E-Merge for the year 2015-16.
On behalf of the entire team, I would like to thank the branch for
giving me this prestigious opportunity and the faculty mentors for
their support throughout all our initiatives.
What began off as an interview for a post I was confident
Aditi Sangar
about undertaking, has flourished into a beautiful relationship
Publication Head
with seniors and juniors alike. Be it reaching on time to make
sure that the write ups don’t miss a detail, or anchoring for
various IEEE events held in college, to staying up late, even at 6 AM to try out different color
and design schemes for the magazine, the journey has been nothing short of magnificent.
With the Publication Team always a call away, I wouldn’t be bragging if I said that the task
has been a cake walk. The team of editors was more like an army of five, namely, Pooja
Goel, Arushi Butan, Diksha Singh, Chhavi Gupta and Esha Trivedi who were always eager
about their next assignments. I remember allotting online interview topics for the post of
editors and receiving an overwhelming response from a lot of juniors. Here, I would like to
congratulate everyone who contributed to the responses received. It was heartwarming to
receive Thank You notes after the selection procedure. Meenal Bhati and Anushka Rathi deserve a special mention here for the effort they showed in their articles.
I would also like to thank the Ex– Publication Head, Malvika Gupta for her endearing support throughout. From letting me know about her experiences with the past magazine and
team and taking out time to proof read this magazine, she has always been helpful.
Throughout the compilation of this magazine, I have had a plethora of life-changing experiences. Working within deadlines, deciding structures and making sure that no detail goes
unaccounted, I’ve developed a set of professional skills I’m thankful for. Throughout this
journey there have been ups and downs, joys and stressed out days and nights, but there’s
one important thing that I have learnt in the procedure. I have learnt that you have to go
through the tunnel to appear bright and shiny on the other side; that even though with every step you take forward, life may pull you ten steps back, but that should never stop you
from choosing to step forward. Because at the end of time, it’s the things we don’t do that
we regret more than the ones we did. I’m glad that I am a part of a team that never gives
up; to be among people who can work for welfare of humanity, be it through technology or
benevolence, tirelessly, is indeed, a privilege. It is never too late to take a stand and decide
to be the agent of change. Win or lose, in life, “Play up, play the game always!”
