Stem cells are primordial cells differentiated not retain the ability to differentiate into other cell types. This ability allows them to act as a repair system for the body, replacing other cells while the organism is still alive.
It is believed that in the future, stem cells have the potential to confront a multitude of human diseases being used to repair specific tissues or replace entire organs. Although it is believed, however, that will require many more years of intensive research to achieve these goals.
